through the lens

My first camera was a 35 mm Asahi Pentax that I bought for $100 for a trip I took to Senegal, West Africa back in 1989. It is a great little camera and has been through a lot with me (with the dents to prove it!). Photography has allowed me to find different way to translate how I see the world around me, whether I am stomping around in the woods or watching the sea or the inner world of the face on the other side of the lens. It is an art form that I adore. I love how a photograph can tell a story that goes far beyond words. Poetry for the eyes, heart and soul. One day I will take a class and get properly instructed on how to take photos, for now, I happily play around with what I have.
